Wrapping up….

Canada Goose season closed here the end of January.  It was a great year for the honks!  The Mallardview Outdoors Ice Eaters we use when it gets cold are priceless for us.  Having open water when everything else is frozen is the recipe for some excellent waterfowl hunting!!

You will have a hard time wiping these smiles off of their faces!!

Hunting in the fog is pretty cool, you can hear them and they can hear you…but you can’t see them until the last minute.   Now we are talking…they can finally see the decoys!!!

Canadas!!!!!!!!

With the cold winter the Canada Goose hunting this year has been excellent!  The best part of the goose season has been the new hunters that we have been able to take out to shoot their first geese ever!  Here’s a few pics of the season and the smiles!!

Canadas…Levi’s Turn

Blinds with snow covers dug into the snow….no chance they will see us…time to enjoy the show!!

We had the opportunity to have young, Levi Haskamp, with us on his first Canada Goose hunt…..first hunt or not, he handled his little 20 gauge like a true veteran!!

Canadas….JT’s First!

When the snow is on the ground, the snow covers are on the blinds…..Canadas are in trouble!!

JT and Cole were all smiles in the mudroom with anticipation of feet down Canadas…

Feet down is what they got…and they got to see alot of it!!!

Randy Richardson, the camp manager here at Habitat Flats, was one proud father when his son, Jayden, killed his first two geese ever!!

JT and Cole’s little 20 gauges didn’t have any trouble dispatching feet down honkers.   These will be memories that none of us will soon forget!

These aren’t kids anymore…they are bona fide goose hunters!!
