Turkey time

by Aaron

Good time in Kansas…used the little layout boats to put the floating watuzi on em! Neat way to hunt on these little creeks, they end up gobbling above you and you shimmy up the bank to make your set!

Beautiful country in Oklahoma!

Go Time!

Good day, helps when the wind isn’t blowing 70 MPH!

Filmed a great example of how trying to sneak up on someone can get you shot! Birds came from across a field 500 yards and then snuck in behind us through the thickest cedar patch you could imagine…worked out in the end!

Tony getting serious while Kip “Hombre” Peck filmed our hunts! Should have some great footage for the website soon once Field gets a chance to put together.

Oklahoma WAR FACE!! That’s ugly enough to make an armadillo run for his life.

Some of my favorite pics.

Great trip, thanks Kip!

Couple more Snow pics

by Ira

I did not have a camera along this spring.  Here are some pics that have come from some of our guests and crew!

It takes a mountain of gear we had 4200 full body decoys and 60 finishers in the spring lineup.

It takes a bunch of guys to run the operation as well.  Resting up before going to pull and set another spread.

Got a few bands along the way!

Memories of incoming geese were etched into our brains!

4 guns against 9 geese- they didnt stand a chance!!!

Couple of smiles from fun morning and afternoon hunts!

Old peg leg even made it out for a hunt!

We are already filling up for Spring 2010, so if you would like to hunt with Habitat Flats, now is the time to get in touch with us!!

King of Bucks….

by Tony

The King of Bucks television show for the Outdoor Channel recently came to camp to interview Aaron and do a show on his deer.  Aaron is the current Missouri state record holder in the Archery Typical Class and has been for several years now.   The mammoth buck is about as typical as they come with only a little over 3″ of deductions.  The final net score on this beast was 191 1/2″ and will definitely be a tough one to knock out of the top spot!   We will be sure to let you know when it is slated to aire on the Outdoor Channel.  Here are a few pictures of Aaron’s deer, it can also be seen on the King of Bucks calendar as the featured deer for the month of March!

Look at those brow tines!

A good angle showing just how TALL this deer was and to have only a little over 3″ in total deductions is incredible!
