Teal hunting has been pretty steady with TV and another guy or 2 going every day.  The lodge is coming along and we should be starting the final touches next week!

The big excitement was that Kory went teal hunting with the boys this weekend.  The first step was to get the Red Ryder shined up and do a little target practice!

The next morning, it was time to go.  Kory was ready for battle and suited up before sunrise!

The teal cooperated and grandpa, dad and Kory had a great morning in the marsh with TV and Ruff.  Kory made sure that all the decoys stayed in line!

Then, it was time for breakfast and those short legs had run out of gas.  Everyone needs a helping hand now and then!

Its been a great start and we are looking forward to a fun fall!

The Missouri Early Teal Season opened this past Saturday…..and it opened with a BANG for us!  Early teal season is always a really fun time for us.  It’s the first waterfowl hunting  open for us here and its our first opportunity to reap what we sow so to speak!   The hunting has been good, as has the cooking!

Prime food and habitat….equals lots of birds!!

The only thing bad about lots of birds is the hunt doesn’t last long enough!  It’s been a fun start to the 2009 waterfowl season for us though!

Field is always looking for good footage….ghosts coming out of the fog!

The jap millet is coming on strong!
