Clint Mann is the kennel manager and lead trainer of Habitat Flats Kennels. Mann has owned and operated a successful training kennel on the family farm near Philadelphia, Missouri for over ten years. His former operation specialized in the training and handling of competition field trial and hunting retrievers. Mann has been a dog man all his life, born into a family that raised champion coonhounds and pointing dogs. When he isn't training you can usually find him spending time with his family or duck hunting.
As HFK embarks upon its inaugural year, we look forward to providing you with updates on additional members of the Training Team as they are selectively recruited!
A Note from Clint ~
Greetings! I was born and raised in Philadelphia, MO (small town in NEMO) in this very industry.
My dad raised Pointers for hunting, and he ran them in NSTRA field trials. (national shoot to retrieve assoc) where he had several champions. I started running dogs in competitions at the age of 5.
We started waterfowl hunting when the quail got thin, and I found my passion. I started training and working with Labs instead of pointers, and decided I wanted to try and make a living at it. After two years of training and competing with my own dogs (My first lab ever was MH QAA) while I went to a local junior college, I went to work for Webfoot Kennels in Jonesboro AR.
A year after that I took a job with Lyle Steinman in Gower, MO training hunt test and gun dogs to be closer to home. After 5 Years of working there, I moved back to my hometown in built Cold Tree Kennels, which I have Owned and operated with my family for 10 years now.
As well as gun dogs we have trained many AKC Master Hunters, put several dogs on the Purina National Derby List, had many Qualified All-Age dogs, and placed in AKC Open All-Age stakes.
What I am most proud of, We have had clients title many MH dogs and win multiple field trials handling the dogs themselves.
My wife Courtney and I have been married three years and have two daughters Quinnlyn June (2 years old) and Briar Avian (6 mo). We are thrilled to be joining the Habitat Flats team on this incredible venture, Habitat Flats Kennels.
I look forward to meeting many new clients over the years to come, and growing your canine companion into their fullest potential in the field, and at home. There's nothing more rewarding for me than seeing a dog become the fullest sense of themselves, and watching the elements of my training grow and reward their family relationships.
